The decision to delay an update centred on a new crankshaft for the 963’s 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8 has been made after discussions with WEC organisers the FIA and the Automobile Club l’Ouest and IMSA in North America, which jointly govern the LMDh category.

The punishment for the violations related to performance was handed out solely to the manufacturers, with drivers and teams excluded and leaving the final results of last month’s season-opening race unaltered.

Sowery, 27, will pilot the team’s No. 04 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2 prototype alongside full season entrants George Kurtz and Colin Braun for four endurance events, including the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring March 13-16.
