With F1 looking like it is heading to its third year of single team dominance, there have been questions asked about whether the rules revamp that took place from 2022 has ultimately failed.

Both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton found their power units running too hot, and from early in the Bahrain race they were told to adjust engines modes and their driving in an attempt to keep temperatures under control. They eventually finished in fifth and seventh positions.

It has been a chance for the pair to digest the events of the previous campaign, run through developments over the winter and talk through aims and ambitions for the battle ahead.

As reported earlier by Autosport, Hamilton is set to be announced imminently as a Ferrari driver from 2025 after agreeing a shock switch from Mercedes.

But it’s much harder staying true to the path when pain repeats itself weekend after weekend, and the fightback at times struggles to gain momentum.

Allison came back to the technical director role last year as part of a job swap with Mike Elliott undertaken to help Mercedes get back to the front of F1.
