Carlos Sainz led the way for Ferrari in Friday practice, although a late red flag caused by Red Bull's Sergio Perez meant the times weren't fully representative of the pecking order.

Oscar Piastri therefore nipped ahead of Verstappen in fourth during the session that was twice halted, with Charles Leclerc, so far the slower of the two Ferrari cars throughout practice at Monza, sixth in front of the Tifosi.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was quickest in Free Practice 1, before Norris set the fastest time of the day in FP2 at 1m11.330s, 0.023s quicker than Verstappen and Williams’s Alex Albon.

Sergio Perez was fourth in the other Red Bull, nearly half a second slower than Verstappen, with the Ferrari drivers well down the field after eschewing running the soft tyres throughout FP1.
