FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem revealed at last weekend’s Acropolis Rally that the three-time WRC constructors’ winner (1995-1997) is considering a possible return to the championship.

The three-time constructors’ champion became synonymous with the WRC in the 1990s and 2000s winning drivers’ titles with Colin McRae (1995), Richard Burns (2001) and Petter Solberg (2003).

Several parties, including American powerhouse Andretti, have lodged their interest in joining the F1 grid as an 11th team, with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem keen on expanding the current grid of 10 teams.
