Former White House official claims that Trump was ‘obsessed with looking at KKK garb’

Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former member of the Trump administration and contestant on The Apprentice, has revealed several stunning claims about Donald Trump’s time in the White House.

In a clip shared on TikTok by Big Brother Australia VIP (Newman was recently a contestant on the reality show having previously competed on the US version), Newman claimed that Trump would regularly leak information to her that was way beyond her classification level.

Newman had first met Trump on the first season of The Apprentice in 2004 and quickly struck a rapport with him. This eventually morphed into her having a role in Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign team. Once he was elected she held the roles of assistant to the president and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, until she was fired in December 2017.

In the clip, Newman claims that despite her not being qualified Trump would regularly call her into the Oval Office to ask for her opinion on veteran affairs and what was happening at the Pentagon. She said that every day she would advise him to call the secretary of state or secretary of defence and every time he would say “no, just tell me what you think.”

Perhaps the most alarming revelation was that she claimed that she had to remove herself from the room after Trump told her that he had just bombed Syria even though she wasn’t classified to be hearing such sensitive information. “You try to just contain Donald because there was so much work to be done,” admitted Newman.

Newman went on to reveal that just days before she left the White House, she had organised for Trump and several other White House officials to attend the opening of a civil rights museum in Jackson, Mississippi which turned out to be a disaster for the president.

“It didn’t go so well because he was fascinated with looking at the KKK garb,” said Newman. “He was obsessed with the white supremacist kind of display,” she added. “It was kind of one of those moments where I was like ‘holy cow, who is this person?’ He is not the person I met in Trump Tower in 2003. This was a different person I was talking with.”

In another clip, Newman said that one of the best ways to incentivise Trump was to get a celebrity like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian or an NFL team to visit the White House and he would remain focused for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately, for Newman, this looks to be the end of her tales about Trump for now as, earlier this week, she was the first contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother hotel.
