More than 20 people were injured in a frightening incident at a music festival in Germany when a Ferris wheel caught fire on Saturday evening. The Highfield Festival, located near Leipzig, was the site of the alarming event, with images showing two carriages of the ride engulfed in flames and smoke rising into the air.
According to a statement released by Saxony police, the fire broke out shortly after 9 p.m. local time, though the exact cause remains unknown. The statement revealed that four individuals sustained burn injuries, while another person required treatment for injuries sustained from falling.
Emergency services attended to a total of 18 individuals, including first responders, police officers, and others who were exposed to smoke during the incident. All those affected were promptly transported to hospitals for medical care.
