The Bombay High Court today delivered a split verdict in petitions challenging the amendment to the IT Rules, which allows the government to identify “fake news” about itself on social media, Livelaw reported. 

The judicial custody of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakraborty has been extended till February 17 in the UAPA case by a Delhi court, Times of India reported. The former’s plea against his arrest was also adjourned by the Supreme Court, as per Livelaw.
