Will Power handed out a masterful drive to capture victory in the second race of IndyCar’s double-header at Iowa Speedway.

Despite a four-hour rain delay, the clouds diminished and an intense battle finished as the sun set on more than 300,000 fans at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Kirkwood finished 0.7633s ahead of Team Penske’s polewinner Scott McLaughlin and series dominator Alex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing). The race was red-flagged in the closing stages for a multi-car pileup, but Kirkwood kept his cool for his second win of the season.

Kirkwood topped the 75-minute session around the 11-turn, 1.786-mile Exhibition Place street course with a best lap of 1m00.8075s.

O’Ward led the most laps in Sunday’s 107th running of America’s premier open-wheel race, and was at the front at a restart with eight laps to go.

On lap 20, O’Ward dived down the inside of six-time IndyCar champion Dixon in Turn 8. It was a very late manoeuvre, but the Arrow McLaren driver's wheels were fully alongside those of the Ganassi car. The pair made contact that sent Dixon spearing into the tyre wall.
