India on Wednesday made history when its Chandrayaan-3 lander successfully touched down on the Moon's south pole, thought to be a potential source for water and oxygen, days after Russia's mission failed.

ISRO has a packed schedule following the Chandrayaan-3 Lander landing, incl. Aditya-L1, INSAT-3DS, test vehicle mission for Gaganyaan, NISAR & two unmanned crew module missions. Aditya-L1 to study Sun, INSAT-3DS for climate observation, NISAR for mapping Earth's ecosystems & Gaganyaan to demonstrate human space flight.

On August 22, ISRO posted on social media platform X: “The mission is on schedule. Systems are undergoing regular checks. Smooth sailing is continuing. The Mission Operations Complex (MOX) is buzzed with energy & excitement!”

As the Chandrayaan-3 lander neared its destination, a 'havan' (religious ritual) was performed at Kamakhya Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi for the success of India's third lunar mission. Read further on Dynamite News:
