Suspect accused of causing fatal crash is in police custody

MIAMI — A man who troopers say was behind the wheel in a wrong-way crash that killed five young friends on the Palmetto Expressway has been arrested, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

For decades, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge has been one of Tampa Bay’s most iconic landmarks. But the 190 foot-high peak has also drawn hundreds of people wanting to take their own life.

Pringle, 28, who signed a one-year, $4.125 million contract with the Bears as a free agent, also was charged with driving with a suspended license after a Florida Highway Patrol officer observed him squealing tires, burning rubber and doing a donut in his high-performance sports car.

Recordings from Haskins’s wife, Kalabrya, and a witness to the incident were released on Twitter Wednesday morning.
