The Latest Breaking News from Coast Guard

For five days, “Breaking News” alerts hit my phone repeatedly with updates on the search for a missing submersible. The search for the five-passenger vessel began only days after an overloaded migrant vessel capsized carrying some 750 desperate people bound for Greece.

The news came hours after the announcement that debris from the Titan, collected from the seafloor more than 12,000 feet below the surface of the North Atlantic, had arrived in Newfoundland.

The Coast Guard is probing the implosion of the submersible June 18 on a dive to the Titanic wreckage. The ‘presumed remains’ will be brought to the U.S. for analysis.
