Armenia’s prime minister says his country has refused to host military drills planned by a Russia-dominated security pact

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday that his government was not criticising Russian peacekeepers deployed around the breakway enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, but was concerned over their activities, Russian news agencies reported.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that it was "concerned" about tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan over a two-week-old blockade of the only road linking breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, and that talks with the two sides would continue.

Azerbaijan said on Tuesday protests which have blocked the supply route to ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh for more than two weeks would be suspended if monitors were given access to what it calls illegal mining sites in the enclave.
