Pedestrian and dog struck by train near Adelaide's Clarence Park Train Station

A 63-year-old woman and a dog have died after they were struck by a train in Adelaide's inner-south on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and paramedics were called to Cowper Terrace at Black Forest just before 1pm after a woman was struck by a passing train. 

The crash happened about 150 metres south of the Clarence Park Train Station. 

The 63-year-old woman from Clarence Park and a dog died at the scene. 

The Seaford and Flinders lines were closed while emergency crews were at the scene, but later reopened. 

Police said investigations into the crash are ongoing and urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers

In May, a 62-year-old woman was killed while walking across the tracks at the Alberton pedestrian crossing. 

In June, a cyclist was hit at the pedestrian crossing near the North Adelaide Railway Station and died a month later from his injuries.
