Justin Bieber shares 'weird' video about getting 'high' after his team furiously denied drug use speculation

Justin Bieber has shared a video rapping about getting “high” after his team vehemently denied recent rumours suggesting the singer is using drugs following public concerns about his behaviour.

The Baby hitmaker, 30, took to Instagram on Tuesday to upload the clip which sees him spitting some bars while shirtless and munching on a bag of snacks.

“I fly like a fly guy, I fly high like a bagpipe, I go high like a bad guy,” he can be heard rapping alongside a friend who is smoking a cigarette.

While some fans described it as “weird but cute”, others were just happy to have just some semblance of music given his last album came out in 2021.

The Standard has contacted a representative for Justin Bieber for comment.

In recent weeks, Bieber has sparked concern due to a number of erratic public appearances with photos showing him looking noticeably tired and with dark circles under his eyes.

Constant online chatter led to reps for both him and his wife Hailey Bieber addressing the situation, calling the ongoing scrutiny of the singer’s mental and physical health “exhausting and pitiful.”

The statement further criticised the public’s obsession with negative narratives, saying it “shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

They further explained that the past year has been “transformative” for the two-time Grammy Award winner, especially after he and Hailey welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, in August 2024.

According to US news outlet TMZ, pictures published on February 1 were taken after he had just come off an all-night recording session and had also been up caring for his son, who was having trouble sleeping.

This isn’t the first time Bieber has faced public speculation about his health. The singer has been transparent about his past struggles with drug addiction.

In a 2021 GQ interview, he opened up about the lowest points in his life, sharing that his drug use had once become so severe that security guards would check his pulse at night to ensure he was still alive.

“It was like I had all this success, and it was still like: ‘I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues.’ I thought all the success was going to make everything good.”

Bieber credited his eventual sobriety in 2014 as a turning point, though he continues to drink alcohol socially. Since then, he has openly discussed his journey toward mental health, healing, and self-improvement.

Despite the recent speculation he participated in a charity hockey game alongside stars like Steve Carell and Ross Lynch, raising funds for Los Angeles wildfire relief over the weekend.
