Pasadena Humane has been actively involved in providing assistance to pets trapped in houses due to the ongoing fires in Los Angeles County. The group is working alongside Animal Control Officers who possess specialized fire training to ensure the safety and well-being of these animals.
Kevin McManus, PR and Communications Manager at Pasadena Humane, stated that they are meticulously documenting every report of animals left behind and promptly dispatching search and rescue teams to areas deemed safe for entry. The primary focus is on responding to reports of animals seen alive and in urgent need of medical attention, as well as cases where owners have indicated they were unable to take their pets with them when evacuating.

Since the onset of the fires, Pasadena Humane has taken in a total of 610 animals, highlighting the magnitude of the operation. McManus emphasized the unprecedented scale and complexity of the situation, underscoring the organization's unwavering commitment to addressing the challenges at hand.
He further mentioned that once all live animal reports have been addressed, the group will shift its focus to responding to reports of deceased animals. The collective efforts of Pasadena Humane, in collaboration with Animal Control Officers, reflect a dedicated approach to ensuring the safety and welfare of animals affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles County.
