Nothing is coming to central London offering stunning new tech just in time for Christmas

Newcomers and London-based tech start-up, Nothing appeared on the scene just last year with their semi-transparent, stylised tech and now they have another big announcement on the way.

Nothing was founded by Carl Pei, a Swedish entrepreneur and he was also co-founder of the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer OnePlus but left back in 2020.

Their tech is known for its modern, almost cyberpunk aesthetic with transparent elements and in the case of the Phone (1) it’s the eye-catching Glyph lighting system.

Nothing has done the seemingly impossible and managed to stand out in the already heavily saturated mobile phone market and generated significant hype for their products..

Nothing hit the market back in July 2021 with their noise-cancelling earbuds Nothing Ear (1) has now sold over 600,000 units.

They followed up in July 2022, with a brand new and distinctive, android smartphone called the Phone (1) which received mostly positive reviews for its bold, stylish design and well-balanced yet affordable tech for a mid-range device.

Most recently they have released a second set of earbuds called the Nothing ear (stick) which offer a more affordable audio experience.

Nothing has announced that they are opening their first ever brick-and-mortar store, the new store will be located in trendy Soho, part of the City of Westminster, at 4 Peter Street, Soho, London, W1F 0AD.

Nothing's new store is close to competitors and leaders in the tech industry Apple and Microsoft with the Apple flagship store on Regents Street and the Microsoft Experience Centre on Oxford Circus.

Nothing said on their website

“With industrial and mid-century design inspirations, including the iconic Olivetti stores in Italy, the boutique space is unlike the tech stores you’ve been to before. It’ll be a unique way to experience our entire product range. “

Also on the opening day of the store, the first 100 visitors will get a chance to buy one of the #100 limited edition Ear (stick) as well as receive free, never seen before branded merch including T-shirts and jumpers.

Previously Nothing products were predominantly available online through their website and through their partners including O2 but for the first time tech enthusiasts will be able to see the unique tech in person altogether in a dedicated space.

This isn't the first time Nothing has had a physical presence however, launching December 4, 2021, the Nothing Kiosk was a limited pop-up installation near Seven Dials allowing members of the public to see and buy the Nothing ear for the first time.

The Kiosk also returned in July 2022 for the Nothing Phone (1) release, allowing fans to queue up to be among the first to own the smartphone.

Time will tell how the store will do despite its currently limited selection of products it’ll be interesting to see what devices they release next.
