Rocksteady games debuted a new Suicide Squad trailer during The Game Awards 2022 and shadow-dropped the Suicide Squad release date, but the trailer contained two substantial surprises. Batman is back in Suicide Squad, despite the caped crusader technically dying at the end of Rocksteady’s superhero game trilogy.
And in addition to that, Kevin Conroy provided this Batman’s voice. Conroy died in November 2022 after a long and successful career built in part by voicing Batman in the DC hero’s animated series, along with his appearance in video games.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will launch on May 26, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The latest trailer shows what looks like a heavy emphasis on cinematics, with an extended cutscene featuring the Suicide Squad interrogating The Flash, with varying degrees of efficacy, before Batman infiltrates their makeshift hideout. It ends with Batman detonating a grenade before the screen fades to black.
We haven’t seen much of the superhero game over the course of its long development cycle, but you can expect to learn more in the coming months ahead of its May release date.
