ITV Coronation Street fans spot Nina blunder after horror fall before praising positive move

Coronation Street fans appeared surprised when they saw Nina Lucas for the first time after she was rushed to hospital. Viewers of the ITV soap saw the character, played by Mollie Gallagher suffer a horror fall.

Nina was in a panic as she tried to find her uncle, Roy Cropper, after he headed off to a bat group meeting in the woods. The cafe owner - and Corrie icon - played by David Neilson, didn't know that the meeting had been cancelled, due to him rejecting the phone Nina had bought him for Christmas, and carried on on his tricky venture into the woods.

Upon arriving in the woods in the dark, Roy dropped his thermos in the river and despite his efforts to retrieve it, he had to leave it in the water and carry on with his ramble. Arriving at the woods to look for Roy, Nina, Asha Alahan and Brian Packham spotted his car and headed off towards the Rover to look for him.

Realising he had already set off, Nina, followed by Asha and Brian, rushed through the woods but she was shocked when she spotted Roy’s thermos in the water. Fearing he had fallen in, Nina rushed down the bank but horror struck when she slipped and banged her head before rolling into the river.

A terrified Asha froze as Brian performed CPR on a lifeless Nina. Luckily, his quick action worked and paramedics arrived to rush Nina to hospital. As he sat int he wiaitng room, Roy was full of guilt and Asha couldn't help but apologise to her girlfriend, saying she was 'useless' when Nina needed her most.

However, as Nina reassured Asha, Corrie fans were distracted by Nina's appearance and an apparent 'blunder'. @CyprusSuzie tweeted: "Nina nearly drowned yet her eye make up is still imacculate #Corrie." Valentina Jones wrote on Facebook: "Amazing that Nina almost drowned had resuscitation and still has full make up on with lipstick. So realistic not."

Catherine Obrien echoed: "Nina was in the water, but had make-up in hospital. I know it's not real." Rosemarie Jessop said: "No way would Nina be that well after nearly dying." Others were surprised at how quickly she was seen to.

Sheila Edwards commented: "When Nina was pulled out of the river she had a massive graze on her head that knocked her out, my god that A+E is amazing they managed to heal it immediately." Lilian Smith posted: "No 20 hour wait for an ambulance for Nina. No lovely hospital corridor for another 24 hours. Oh no. Straight to a comfy bed in a comfy ward."

Despite the comments, others were quick to praise the turn of events as the traumatic experience saw Asha decide she wants to become a paramedic. Sachin Chahal commented: "A nice positive storyline for Asha. Brilliant episode tonight Corrie." Lee Conner wrote: "I think that could be a good little storyline for Asha." Linda Bradley added: "She'll make a good paramedic good episode."
