‘It starts with tomorrow,” says Boston’s Jayson Tatum of the Celtics push for a 2023 NBA title

It isn’t just fans that are anxiously excited for the Boston Celtics’ opening night. The players do, too, as star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum let the media know after practice on Monday (via CLNS).

“Honestly, it’s like the first day of school tomorrow, I’ve got my outfit laid out, just excited,” he said smiling.

No matter how it goes, Tatum isn’t going to let himself get too high or low.

“Obviously you want to win every game you play, but we’re not going to overreact if we win. If we lose, we can learn from both,” suggested the St. Louis native, who noted he plans to use the team’s 2022 NBA Finals loss as fuel to drive this season’s play.

“We lost; it was no secret,” Tatum explained. “We talked about it every day. It’s a relief to just get out there and play basketball and have a goal in mind.”

“We’re trying to get to a championship. It starts with tomorrow, take one game at a time.”
