Emergency services rush to Scots street after car bursts into flames

Emergency services rushed to a Scots street this afternoon after a car burst into flames. Fire crews attended a road in the Duddingston area of Edinburgh on Wednesday.

One fire engine attended the scene shortly before 12pm after reports of a car blaze as emergency services quickly taped off Old Church Road, Edinburgh Live reports.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and left the scene before 1pm after dampening down the vehicle. Officers from Police Scotland also attended the incident.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a unit from Liberton station attended the scene with a hose and breathing apparatus. There were no reports of injuries and it is not currently known how the fire started.
