Coronation Street's Emma Brooker was left devastated on Monday, when her dad passed away following a battle with cancer.
But she was left in for a huge shock when he dropped the news he wasn't her real father, later confirmed by her mother.
Emma's mum was revealed to be former Corrie character Fiona Middleton during the episode, and then came the realisation from Audrey Roberts that Emma's real dad could be Steve McDonald.
Audrey told Liz, and during the latest visit to the Street, she was trying to find a way to break the news to son Steve despite Audrey telling her not to.
Emma wasn't intent on searching for her real father, unaware he was right under her nose.
In a scene in the cafe, Steve comforted Emma as she broke down about her father's death.
It's then that Emma admitted her mother used to live in Weatherfield, referring to her as Fiona Brooker.
Steve had no recollection of her - his ex - until Emma mentioned her maiden name was Middleton, and that's when the penny dropped.
It's then that Steve had a confession of his own - he did know her mum, in fact he knew her very well.
Steve then spoke about his former flame, confessing she was "very strong minded" while appearing stunned to hear her name after all these years.
Emma claimed she and Fiona were estranged and hadn't seen each other in years.
Blasting her as "selfish", she had no idea she was offloading her agony onto her real father, but Liz did know.
Emma's grandmother spotted the pair hugging, and told Steve they needed to speak right away.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
