After a two-year break, the Federation of Business and Professional Women of Thailand (BPW-Thailand) restarted its annual awards ceremony at the Hyatt Erawan Hotel to recognise exceptional Thai businesswomen who have made significant contributions to environmental conservation.
This year, awards were granted for National Outstanding Businesswomen, Provincial Outstanding Businesswomen, National Outstanding Professional Women, Provincial Outstanding Professional Women, Regional Outstanding Young Career Businesswomen and Outstanding Women Leaders for Green Growth Awards.
"The BPW-Thailand resumed the award-giving ceremony after the Covid-19 crisis to honour and provide moral support to successful Thai businesswomen, who have contributed to society. The event will also inspire next-generation Thai businesswomen to become determined in developing their own capability and their businesses with good ethics and good governance while also becoming more responsible to society and the environment," said Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, president of BPW-Thailand.
"Climate change has become an important issue that is having a crucial impact on the lives of people. The event this year was supported by three international organisations -- United Nations Development Thailand, UN Women Asia-Pacific, and USaid Southeast Asia's Smart Power."
Partners who have advocated for financial restraint signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the event to extend the project until 2025. The International Federation of Business and Professional Women has awarded BPW-Thailand the "BPW Power to Make a Difference, Excellent Project Award 2017-2019, First Place".
One of the beneficiaries of the national outstanding professional women awards was Patama Chataruck, country managing director of Accenture (Thailand). Since she started working in the IT industry more than 30 years ago, Patama has been maximising Thailand's competitiveness by utilising technology that helps the nation prosper sustainably.
Jutharat Assavaphanit, CEO of Phuket Andaman Birdnest, won the award of national outstanding businesswomen for the South. Her company has been recognised for swallow nests and healthy drinks.
