After years of regulatory issues, it seems the vision of drones filling the skies delivering products in 30 minutes or less may finally be realized, as a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) is rolling out its commercial drone delivery service.

Piper Sandler cut the price target on Wingstop Inc. (NASDAQ: WING) from $195 to $102. Wingstop shares fell 0.7% to trade at $111.44 on Thursday.

Coles has announced it is launching a pilot program in partnership with Google’s sister company Wing, to deliver groceries to your doorstep via drone. 

Customers can simply order via the Wing app and upon arrival, the drone will hover in the air and slowly lower the package to the ground for a contactless delivery.

A company backed by Google's owner is replacing the delivery driver with a drone, as part of a pilot project with a major Australian supermarket. Experts say the idea could literally take off and may work out cheaper than road transport.
