The state's Supreme Court upheld Florida's existing 15-week abortion ban, thereby activating a six-week abortion ban passed by the state legislators last year. The law will be implemented within 30 days.

Floridians Protecting Freedom has submitted 911,169 valid signatures to place an initiative on the Nov. 2024 ballot that would prohibit any state laws that restrict, delay, penalize, or ban abortion before fetal viability.

"Marsy's Law guarantees to no victim—police officer or otherwise—the categorical right to withhold his or her name from disclosure," the Florida Supreme Court ruled.
