As James Comer was about to unfurl two Oversight Committee hearings on Capitol Hill this week, the White House issued a complaint.

The hours-long meeting for the House Judiciary Committee's select subpanel saw Republicans and Democrats trading attacks.

WASHINGTON — The House Oversight and Accountability Committee adopted its new rules on Tuesday after rejecting six amendments proposed by Democrats, in a first glimpse of a key committee whose new chairman, James R. Comer, has promised to launch a series of partisan investigations.

In one of his first moves as chairman, Comer renamed Oversight’s five subcommittees, saying it would help jump-start his investigations. 

"I think I’m going to have a lot of fun on this committee,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

"When MTG looks in the mirror she sees a potential president smiling back," Bannon told NBC News

"I'm amused that the White House has been so critical," Rep. Comer told Axios.
