CHICAGO -- Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration is so far continuing a public records legal battle he inherited from predecessor Lori Lightfoot over a letter regarding alleged misconduct at the city treasurer’s office.

Lightfoot was trailed by reporters as attended a status hearing Thursday for William Kohler, 42, who is accused of posting a threat last fall on the mayor’s official webpage.

Housing Commissioner Marisa Novara said she decided when she took the $189,996-a-year job to work at a “four-year pace.” The time has run out. Her resignation takes effect on July 28.
