In predictably affirming how the 49ers have no intention of trading All-Pro receiver Deebo Samuel, general manager John Lynch avoided getting into specifics in Monday’s press conference.

The All-Pro wide receiver has reportedly requested a trade, though San Francisco does not appear willing to entertain that idea.

‘There are a lot of steps in between now and then, but I think we’ll be ready by then.’

Waugh worked with Baalke during his time in SF, but has also worked with their current GM John Lynch and has helped the team make two postseason trips in the last three years.

If Samuel’s time in San Francisco really is finished, the 49ers still get to decide where he ends up. NFC teams need not apply.
