Matt Eberflus says Jaquan Brisker is orchestrating a workout with the Bears defense in California.

Bears safety Eddie Jackson shared a few cryptic posts on social media suggesting his time in Chicago is coming to an end.

The Bears won’t make major changes to their defense when they hire a new coordinator. They’ll still run Eberflus’ Cover 2 scheme, with his coaching points, buzzwords — and, probably, play calls. If Eberflus hires from the outside, he figures to add someone familiar with his H.I.T.S. principle.

Jaquan Brisker believes this Bears team is on the cusp on something special, and Justin Fields is a big part of that.

While the offense still has a lot of question marks heading into the final two games — and the 2024 season — the defense is virtually set for next season and determined to “show everyone what type of defense we have and what type of defense we’re going to be.”

Whether it’s coaching, execution, attention to detail or mental toughness, the Bears’ defense won’t reach the next level until it learns how to consistently finish.
