Former football striker Gianluca Vialli, who earned 59 caps for Italy and enjoyed a stellar club career with Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea, has died from cancer at the age of 58. Vialli was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017.

Vialli had been given the all clear in 2020 but the disease returned last month and forced him to step down from his Italy coaching role.
