UNISON, Unite and GMB took part in talks with First Minster Nicola Sturgeon, the Deputy First Minister, Scottish Government and COSLA and now recommend members agree to a new pay offer.

Cosla said its latest proposal ‘shows that Scotland’s council leaders have listened to the concerns of our workforce’.

The EIS said the current offer is effectively ‘a deep and painful real-terms pay cut for Scotland’s hard-working teachers’.
