Young Edinburgh entrepreneur creates successful business after 'inspiring trip to LA'

A young, Edinburgh entrepreneur was inspired during a visit to Los Angeles to reboot his business after a decline in sales due to Covid.

Campbell Duns, originally from North Berwick in East Lothian, started his clothing brand Boundless during the coronavirus pandemic and got off to a good start.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer he used went bust. This left the young, promising, entrepreneur at a loss. Until a visit to see his sister in the United States inspired him to restart his business.

Campbell, now 24, has re-established his luxury, sportswear business and hopes to keep up the high standards as a 'rising fashion brand on the scene.'

He talked about his visit to Los Angeles and his brand new t-shirt inspired after a well-known rally car. He said: “I’ve always wanted to go out to Los Angeles, I was so inspired when I was there, everything out there is a little bit more extreme, and the people dress a little bit more out there.”

"All of a sudden I was surrounded by this really cool culture, they've got a big niche on over size like vintage t-shirts as well and I spent a lot of time in retro outlets."

“I am so excited to release this t-shirt. I think it’s been a bit of a journey to rebuild back to where we are and the feedback that we have had on this new product has been great."

Campbell's visit to Los Angeles sparked his creativity and his love of cars which led to the use of the 1967, 101 Volvo Amazon rally car in the photo shoot.

This also played a massive part in the manufacturing of his new t-shirt which is printed on his new product. He continued onto say: "I wanted to do a well-known car for the t-shirt and bring British culture into the equation."

"It is a pretty old, classic car and this one is especially made and comes with a rally dashboard, custom roll cage. It also competes at classic car rallies so it is pretty special and unique car."

"Telling that story to the consumer of this car is important. You don't need to have a car to buy into the brand but it tells that story to the customer of the rally car and our brand."
