X Factor star Leona Lewis announces career change after moving to US

X Factor winner Leona Lewis has revealed her surprising career change after relocating to America. She has announced she is expanding her Coffee and Plants brand.

The hit singer runs the business with her husband, Dennis Jauch. The couple welcomed daughter Carmel in August last year and have started up a vegan coffee shop in Pasadena.

The store opened three years ago and Leona has revealed that after its success she is opening another in the Studio City neighbourhood, reports Birmingham Live. The star said: "We are excited to bring our disruptive plant-based concept, Coffee and Plants, to the Studio City neighborhood.

"We are aiming to help the world, one cup at a time, to move away from dairy consumption by introducing plant-based products to the masses, all while giving back to the planet and our animal friends." In February, during a candid interview with Vogue, Leona discussed becoming a first-time-mum and how she is navigating her journey with motherhood.

"It's one of the most rewarding yet challenging roles in life. I am in awe of us as women, of all the mothers out there - and myself included," Leona said. "I'm proud of where women are at today, carving out careers for themselves in music. But I feel like behind the scenes, it's still very unfair, and there's not a level playing field."

Leona, who won the ITV talent show in 2006, announced the news of the birth of Carmel in a touching Instagram post back in July. At the time, Leona shared a sweet snap which showcased a partial view of the newborn's face as she cradled the tot, who was wearing an adorable light pink onesie, and held on to her hubby's hand.

She captioned the post: "And then there were three. Our little Carmel Allegra arrived 22.7.22."
