World's most powerful SUV now available in Thailand

The Aston Martin DBX707, the world's most powerful SUV, is now available to Thai buyers with prices starting at 24.9 million baht.

Based on the DBX SUV, the DBX707 goes a step further with improvements enhancing performance and driving pleasure as well as on-road presence.

Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers said: "Right from its first introduction, the DBX has represented Aston Martin's dynamic and design values in a way that proves not all SUVs have to conform to the same compromises.

"With the DBX707, we have pushed the boundaries in every area to create a car which sets new standards of performance and desirability." He added that it is the fastest, most powerful, best handling and most engaging SUV in the market.

According to the British carmaker, the DBX's 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 has been tweaked with ball-bearing turbos and new engine calibration to produce more horsepower and torque. Also new is a nine-speed wet clutch automatic gearbox that's capable of managing increased torque loadings compared to a regular torque converter.

Aston Martin says that the new transmission allows the output to reach 707hp and 900Nm, increases of 157hp and 200Nm over the DBX. Acceleration from 0-100kph takes 3.3sec and the top speed is claimed at 310kph.

Stopping power comes from carbon ceramic brakes (420mm front and 390mm rear) with six-pot callipers that not only offer fade-free braking but also help reduce the unsprung weight by 40.5kg.

Other outstanding features include air suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential (100% power can be sent to the rear wheels), dynamic drive modes with a "race start" function, as well as dedicated buttons for suspension mode, ESP and manual gear selection mode which now holds manual like a sports car, rather than defaulting back to auto. There's also an active exhaust switch which opens the valves of the new quad tailpipe sports exhaust system without needing to be in sport mode.
