Wordle players complain today's answer is 'too similar' to previous word

Players of the popular puzzle game Wordle have complained today's answer is 'too similar' to the previous word.

The daily game has taken the internet by storm with an estimated three million users per day guessing the answer.

Simple but addictive, players need to guess a single word in six attempts to complete the Worldle of the day.

However, it is often not as easy as it sounds with many taking to social media to share their confusion and frustration over today's answer.

Frustrated Wordle users who correctly guessed the 254 answer today have said the answer is very similar to yesterday's word.

The Wordle 254 answer for Monday, February 28 is CHOKE.

However, the Wordle 253 answer for Sunday, February 27 was CHANT.

Some players took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the recent answer.

One wrote: "Surprised it was similar to yesterday…"

"Weird. So similar to the answer from the other day," another commented.

"Wordles have been really similar recently?" a third questioned.

"This was so annoying bc its so similar to yesterdays Wordle," a fourth wrote.

The daily game was created by US-based software engineer Josh Wardle in October last year before being bought over by The New York Times earlier this month for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.

Users are giving six attempt to fill in the blanks of a five letter word.

After each guess, the squares will either turn grey, yellow or green.

Grey means the letter is not in the word at all, yellow indicates it is in the word but it isn’t in the right place and green means it’s the right letter in the right place.

When the puzzle is solved, all five squares will turn green.
