A woman who drives a Ferrari but shops at Aldi and Primark has hit out at her critics and said shopping at budget stores is the very reason she can afford a flash car.
Mortgage adviser Saira Haider posts videos on TikTok offering financial advice to others, but has come under scrutiny for her own retail choices.
People have been asking her why she shops at low-end chain stores and flies with budget airline easyJet when she drives such an expensive luxury car.
Saira replied: "That’s how you drive a Ferrari. Because you don’t spend your money stupidly on branded gear."
She also said she pays half the price in a store like Aldi, compared to Waitrose, for a "better" selection of fruit and vegetables.
"And easyJet?" she added.
"I’m not paying high prices to fly business class, to fly on the same plane, the same distance, in a seat that I can take my iPad and watch a programme on and pay the 10th of the price of business class."
Saira concluded in her latest TikTok video: "So it’s just sense… that’s how you make money."
However that was not the end of the criticism. One person asked her why she does not drive a Fiesta instead of her Ferrari, applying the same principles as flying with easyJet.
Saira responded by saying that she drives her car every day, whereas she does not take flights every day.
She added: "So I’m not going to pay for business class, I’d take easyJet - especially if it’s short-haul. If it’s long haul I might think about something better.
"But when it comes to cars, I had a Fiesta actually - I think they’re amazing cars and my mum has one.
"But if I’m going to drive something every day then I want to drive something that’s just sensational."
