Emergency services have raced to an incident at Arthur's Seat after a woman fell at the beauty spot.
Mercy crews scrambled to the scene in Edinburgh after the alarm was raised at around 12.40pm on Tuesday. It's understood a woman fell close to Dunsapie Loch at Queen's Drive.
Images showed 15 members of the emergency services surrounding her as part of the major rescue mission. Ambulance and fire crews were in attendance.
Another picture showed the rope rescue team on the side of the hill trying to reach the woman, who found herself in trouble while out at the beauty spot.
Several vehicles were at the scene of the fall and a small motor buggy was used to access the casualty.
The Scottish Fire Service confirmed that they were in attendance with one appliance and a rope rescue team on site.
The woman was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but her condition is currently unknown.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call today at 1155 hours to attend an incident at Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh.
"We dispatched our special operations team (SORT) and one ambulance to the scene. We transported one female patient in her 20s to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were requested at 12.39pm on Tuesday, March 14 to assist our Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues at Crow Hill in Edinburgh.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene, where firefighters helped assist one casualty to safety.
"The casualty was thereafter taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by paramedics. Crews left the scene at 1.46pm."
