A 31-year-old woman has been accused of supplying methamphetamine to an inmate at a jail in Canberra.
At about 1pm on April 17, the woman attended the Alexander Maconochie Centre to visit a prisoner. Police will allege while the woman was in the visitor reception area she passed the man a small package.
A short time later the prisoner was searched and the package was located along with other items believed to be prohibited.
An analysis of seized items indicated the presence of methamphetamine.
On Thursday, the woman was arrested and remanded overnight to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday. She has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug namely methamphetamine and other unrelated offences.
