Charlie Adam insists Willie Collum is the right man to referee the crucial Rangers and Celtic clash - despite comparisons to Mike Dean.
Collum was appointed for the decisive clash between the Glasgow giants at Ibrox ahead of the likes of John Beaton and Bobby Madden.
The 43-year-old is one of the most experienced whistlers in the country but has faced some criticism for his performances.
However, Dundee captain Adam insists he is the best whistler in the country for players to deal with.
He insists that, while he can be over-the-top at times, like English Premier League whistler Dean, he is great to deal with on the park.
When discussing the key appointment ahead of Rangers and Celtic, he told PLZ: "I think Willie is the best referee in Scotland.
"I think he is the best referee, and the best man for the job. I'd give him every Old Firm game. The semi-final, give it to him.
"He's the best referee because you can talk to him. You can have a conversation.
"Listen, he's a bit theatrical when he's refereeing and he tells players (in a way) like Mike Dean in England.
"I think Willie is the best referee. You can talk to him, some of them you can't talk to them.
"There is an arrogance that means you just cannot have a word with them.
"I think Willie is the right referee for the game, he will get control of it. I just hope there are no silly incidents that mar the game because it's going to be a cracker."
