You’re probably watching the 2023 NFL draft right now and suddenly you’ve noticed the Miami Dolphins getting skipped at pick No. 21, or that there are only 31 picks in the first round instead of the 32 there normally are.
Why is that? You’ve come to the right place.
It’s because the NFL stripped the Fins of a first-round pick in 2023, as well as a third-rounder in 2024, due to the investigation into Brian Flores’s lawsuit against the franchise. Because of the NFL’s findings — which you can read all about here — that included tampering with Tom Brady while he was still under contract with the Patriots and tanking, the league punished the Dolphins.
There you have it!
