Lily Allen has revealed a stomach-turning encounter during a recent train journey — involving what she described as a “pile of human faeces” next to her seat.
The Smile singer, 39, took to Instagram to share the grim tale, posting photos from her journey and adding that it made her miss her “Botox appointment”.
Sharing a selfie from a New York City subway, she began her caption: “She didn’t know it yet, but just after this picture was taken her whole day was about to change forever.
“She realised the reason the carriage she was on was almost empty was because there was a pile of human faeces on the floor, the stench was absolutely hideous, hence the emptiness.”
Though she managed to joke about it, she admitted the mess was bad enough to force her to leave the train entirely, meaning she missed her appointment.
She continued: “It was too much to bear, so she got off at the next stop, but the other carriages were so full she couldn’t push her way on.
“She gave up on that particular train but realised she would have to wait 14 mins for the next. She wasn’t going to make it to her Botox appt on time, and she knew full well that her doctor didn’t have any more slots till next month.
“She reluctantly called the doctor’s office to reschedule and then got on another train going in the other direction. She picked at a pimple on the side of her nose and it bled all the way home. She didn’t have any tissue.”
The unexpected drama comes amid a difficult few months for the star, who reportedly has been left devastated after claims her estranged husband David Harbour "had a three-year affair" during their marriage.
The Smile singer, 39, split from the Stranger Things actor, 49, in December after the pair, who wed five years ago in Las Vegas, had been living separate lives for months.
In January, Allen was reportedly "in agony" after discovering the American Netflix star had an active profile on celebrity dating app Raya.

According to MailOnline, the London songstress has been dealt a fresh blow with allegations her spouse cheated with a costume designer throughout their relationship.
A source told the publication: “David cheated on Lily. They met on a movie they did together. They weren't very secretive about their relationship.”
The insider added: “David flew her to Atlanta while he shot Stranger Things to keep him company.”
He purchased a home in Atlanta last year to be closer to the Stranger Things set. Meanwhile, Allen is reportedly planning to return her two daughters - who she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper - to a new school in London after previously enrolling them in New York.
