Whole Supp: The meal replacement shake recommended by Premier League nutritionists

When former professional rugby player Darren O'Reilly swapped the pitch for the corporate world, he struggled to balance a busy lifestyle with essential nutrition needs.

This is what led him to come up with Whole Supp, a meal shake filled with 13 superfoods and 31 grams of protein.

To bring his vision to life, O’Reilly enlisted the help of the nutritional advisor to six top-performing Gaelic football teams, Dr Brian Carson, who came up with the food formulation and led the research for the brand’s scientific studies.

Now, Whole Supp’s powder has been praised by some of the best nutritional experts in the country, with Tottenham Hotspur’s performance nutritionist consultant, Mark Evans at Tottenham Hotspur, recommending it for players. “I've found Whole Supp to be more filling and palatable than other powder formulations, made even more impressive because it's a plant-based product. I will be recommending and using Whole Supp with my athletes,” he said.

Nutritionist Granne Travers added: “I was initially impressed with the ingredients and formulation of the product from Whole Foods. It's so versatile to use - whether in porridge, yoghurts, smoothies, or pancakes. It is suitable for many diets from vegan to gluten and dairy free. Clients are generally very impressed with the taste and texture of the product. It is now a key part of my tool kit in my clinic.”

There are 13 superfoods included in the powder, each of which was selected after extensive scientific research, and include broccoli for reducing inflammation, brown rice protein to support muscle growth, sunflower seeds to improve recovery time, and pea protein for muscle repair after exercise.

Other ingredients include whole oat flour, organic cherries, flaxseeds, Red Sea algae, beetroot juice powder, spinach powder, coconut, and MTC oils.

Along with its high protein count, the shake also contains 6.7 grams of fibre per serving, just over one-sixth of the recommended 30 grams of fibre Brits should contain daily.

It’s also packed with vitamins and contains antioxidants, electrolytes, and prebiotics, and is just 400 calories per serving.

The shake mix has been endorsed by several big names in the sporting world, including GB triathlete Kate Jayden who said: “Working full-time managing a business and training for an Ironman is no easy feat. Add to that living alone and not being sharp in the kitchen, Whole Supp came into my life at the optimum time. My morning routine was simplified - train, shower, Whole Supp, work and not worry about nutrition until lunchtime.”

Former British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton added: “I’ve been using Whole Supp for the last few months to fuel my training! I love that it’s an all-in-one that tastes great, not gritty like other shakes. It’s also great knowing that Whole Supp is Informed Sport-approved. I'd highly recommend.”

So, what are you waiting for? If you need a meal replacement or post-gym pick-me-up, Whole Supp is the answer.
