There’s nothing worse than endlessly driving around in search of a parking space when visiting your go-to attraction. This experience can be made even worse when travelling with children or pets in the vehicle, eager to escape and begin causing havoc.
However, according to a new report by Bill Plant Driving School , which based its findings on safe public car parks, total parking spaces, and percentage of disabled spaces across UK seaside towns, Weston-Super-Mare has landed the coveted spot of best seaside town for parking in the UK.
Not only is the drive smooth and simple, but the destination is easily accessible. And of course once you have arrived, there is plenty to do at the popular location - from relaxing on the beach to taking a stroll around the National Trust site of Sandy Bay.

The research states there is an ample amount of parking at the site with 7,842 spaces across the 20 car parks analysed. When it comes to disabled spaces, 9.95% or 230 spaces are accessible.
Due to high scores across the board, this Weston-Super-Mare has come out on top with an overall score of 8.22 out of 10. Of course the irony of Weston being named as the best place to park will not be lost on locals who regularly see visitors cars submerged in the sea at high tide, who do not know they need to move their vehicles before a certain time.
Despite the coastal town of Portishead taking the top spot for the most spaces offered [19,958] - thanks to its marina and open-air pool, it falls in 6th place with a score of 7.01 out of 10. However, if this is your destination of choice, its just a 26 minute drive from Weston via the M5.
