Welsh PR firm Effective Communication expands into the south west of England

Welsh PR firm Effective Communication has launched in the south west of England and made a key promotion as part of its growth plans for 2023.

Effective Communication was established in Cardiff in 2005 by former South Wales Echo editor, Alastair Milburn, and provides a range of public relations, social media and digital marketing services to clients in the corporate, consumer and voluntary sectors. Already working with a number of clients with a south-west presence, the company took the strategic decision to target Plymouth and neighbouring areas and has promoted Natalie Thomas to account director to oversee the south west operation.

Natalie joined Effective in 2008 and will lead a team of ten members of staff from the company’s new base in Plymouth. She said: “Officially launching in Plymouth and south east Cornwall is very exciting. For a long time, we have worked with clients who have been based in both Wales and the south west of England so we already know the media landscape and have great connections here. I’m looking forward to getting out and meeting new people and businesses while continuing to manage our existing client-base from our new home."

Effective Communication’s managing director Mr Milburn, said: “The business has a number of long-standing clients with a presence in the south-west, and following recent growth in this area, it made good business sense to establish a dedicated provision to not only maintain our current clients, but to actively target and acquire new business. Natalie is one of our longest serving employees having been with Effective for fifteen years. She has grown with the company and is perfectly situated to manage the south west division as well as supporting the launch of our new video service.”
