B&M Bargains is no doubt a popular option for shoppers across the United Kingdom at the moment, solely due to their cheap offers and price reductions on big name products.
And with a cost of living crisis across the nation running riot on workers' bank balances, many who usually buy their groceries at a premium retailer may have a change of heart to save a little extra.
Those who usually shop at Marks and Spencer, Ocado, or Waitrose for example - three supermarkets which are notorious for their big brands at slightly bigger prices - may in-turn choose to do a little bargain hunting at their local Aldi, Lidl or B&M instead to see their cash stretch further.

But just how much are you actually able to save when visiting a budget shop in comparison to a premium retailer?
Here at Chronicle Live, we decided to do the research for ourselves - by price checking various items from B&M's official website against Ocado.
Here's what we found...
The majority of items at Ocado are as expected more expensive than the offers at B&M, however, there are a few products you can get marginally cheaper at the fancier retailer.
For example, while a 500g tub of Flora Lighter will set you back £1.50 at the budget store, Ocado offer the same item for 5p less, with a tin of chopped tomatoes also offering the same saving should you shop with the latter.
A number of products at Ocado are also price matched with B&M, with no difference in the cost of a loaf of medium cut white Warburtons bread, a 300g pack of unsmoked back bacon, while a 12 pack of Jaffa Cakes at the M&S preferred retailer costing just a penny more than a ten pack at B&M.
Overall however, Ocado does come in slightly more costly overall, with a substantial difference of almost £10 between the two retailers when both shopping lists were totted up.
