People living in Luncarty and Bertha Park have been advised to ensure their properties are locked up properly at night amid reports of a prowler hanging around gardens.
Luncarty, Redgorton and Moneydie Community Council posted a warning on social media it had received a report of a young man seen acting suspiciously in a back garden in the early hours of one morning last week.
The group told its followers: “Please be aware and remember to keep sheds, doors and windows etc. secured overnight.
Overnight Friday [October 7] into Saturday [October 8] a young male was seen on CCTV skulking about a back garden within Luncarty.
“Images of the male have been captured and will be made available to the police if required.
“This was around 2am so please all, let’s be security conscious.”
The post prompted comments from other people living in the local area who said they seen similar suspicious behaviour on their doorsteps in both Luncarty and Bertha Park at different times of the day or night.
Asked if they had received an official complaint from residents about the suspected prowler a Police Scotland spokesperson said they were unable to find anything in their systems that matched the online comments.
