Vice President Kamala Harris is set to headline a fundraiser in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, as per an invitation obtained by a source. The event offers tickets ranging from $3,300 for a guest to $100,000 for a co-host position. Notably, Lonnie Johnson, a former senior counsel at Exxon Mobil Corporation and a member of the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans, is listed as one of the co-hosts for the fundraiser.
The fundraiser marks the culmination of an 11-day fundraising effort by Harris, during which she has amassed significant financial support since the launch of her presidential campaign. Harris' team recently disclosed that they had raised an impressive $200 million following President Joe Biden's decision to step back from the 2024 race. The campaign is expected to reveal its complete fundraising figures for July by August 20.
Furthermore, Harris' campaign is actively seeking to expand its fundraising team, with reports indicating a surge in interest from both major donors and grassroots supporters looking to contribute to her campaign.
During her visit to Houston, Harris will also address the 60th International Biennial Boulé of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. on Wednesday. Additionally, she is scheduled to deliver a eulogy at the funeral service of the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on Thursday.
