Boutique Canberra clinic LILI Skin Co. has taken out a coveted category in the 2024 Australian Beauty Industry Awards.
The Phillip business won clinic of the year in the NSW/ACT (four treatment rooms or fewer) category at the awards at The Star in Sydney on the weekend.
LILI Skin Co. founder and director Elise Birchall opened the clinic in 2022.
She said it was great to receive recognition from her peers in the industry.
"I was very surprised, to be honest, because there's so many amazing clinics in Canberra and NSW, especially, being such a big place," she said.
"To get an award for such a small clinic, we're very grateful and very happy."
LILI Skin Co. is located in the ground floor of the Grand Central Towers apartment block in Bowes Street, Phillip.
It specialises in skin improvement, with four treatment rooms.
"We're a bit more science-based, kind of crossing the bar between health and medical and blending that with beauty therapy," she said.
"Because so many of the skin things we see are more than just 'Pop a product on your face and off you go'. It's getting to the root cause."
A Canberra local, Elise, 30, attended St Clare's College and Canberra College.
"I went to beauty school just as a gap year thing and then really liked the skin side of things and one thing led to another and two degrees later, here we are," she said.
LILI Skin Co. already had a loyal clientele.
"The good thing about Canberra is once people find out about you, they will never leave you," she said.
"Ninety-nine per cent of our advertising is word of mouth from family and friends."
The beauty awards are held by the Mocha Group who founder and CEO Linda Woodhead was thrilled to see Elise recognised.
"The Canberra community should be so proud of this achievement," she said.
