Ubisoft announced that Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is now available on the PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch. This game is also part of the Valiant Hearts: The Collection, which is also now available. The collection also comes with Valiant Hearts: The Great War.
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home was previously exclusive as a Netflix mobile game. It was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier in partnership with Old Skull Games. The game continues the dramatic narrative during World War I and again focuses on four interconnected stories. These are:
- James, who's a member of the historic Harlem Hellfighters, looking for his older brother Freddie
- Nurse Anna returns to her work tending the wounded
- The German diver Ernst
- The British aviator George
Helping players with the exploration and puzzles is none other than the good dog Walt. Players can also look forward to enjoying the music, which plays an important role in the game.
Bringing to PC and Consoles
The task of bringing the game to PC and consoles was placed on Ubisoft Da Nang. This studio started in 2020 and mainly worked on mobile titles. However, the developers knew that working on this version gave them the chance to be one of the first studios in Vietnam to release a game on console.
There were a number of reasons for doing this and the first one was that it was done for the dedicated community of players who had long been wanting the play the game on other platforms.
Another reason is that the studio wanted to bring the stories to more players. Finally, it allowed for the creation of Valiant Hearts: The Collection bundle.
The Collection
As already mentioned, Valiant Hearts: The Collection contains Valiant Hearts: The Great War and Valiant Hearts: Coming Home.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War interweaves the stories of five characters as they experience the horrors of World War I. There's Karl, who was expelled from France and has been drafted to the German army. Meanwhile his father-in-law Emile has been drafted into the French army. There's also the stories of Freddie, an American volunteer in the French Foreign Legion, and Anna, a French combat nurse. Finally, there's the medic's casualty dog Walt who can help players sneak into areas inaccessible to humans.
