Vaccine drop-in clinics in Lanarkshire cancelled for second day due to staff training

Drop-in appointments for COVID vaccines will not be available across NHS Lanarkshire for the second day today (February 15) due to ongoing staff training.

NHS Lanarkshire made the public aware of the cancellations on social media this morning.

It posted: “Unfortunately we are unable to offer drop-ins at our vaccination centres, so please do not attend as you will not be seen.

"Thank you for your support and we will post details on further drop ins later this week.”

Usually, locals can pop into one of the seven vaccination centres which offer drop-ins, without an appointment and receive a COVID vaccine, However, due to staff training and development only those who have booked a can receive a jag.

A spokesman for NHS Lanarkshire said: “We review our activity on a weekly basis and are taking the opportunity at the start of this week to do some engagement with our vaccination staff.”

The health board does intend to open centres back up for drop-in appointments and will offer an update on when it will offer the services again.
