United Utilities has urged customers to reach out for help if they are struggling.
The water company warned that the average water bill in the North West will now be £443 - a 6.4% increase compared to last year.
In an email sent to customers, United Utilities said: "As your water and wastewater provider, we understand the important role we play in your daily life and we know you want value for money for the services we provide. It’s been another challenging year, not least due to the rising cost of living and significant increases in household bills and that’s why we’re keeping our increases at an absolute minimum this year."

United Utilities have put in place the largest package of support across the water sector with £280 million of financial assistance between 2020-2025. They are already helping more than 200,000 households with their payments.
The correspondence went on to tell customers not to suffer in silence if the new costs were too much. It urged billpayers to reach out and get in touch to discuss ways that they could be helped.
The message read: "If you’re worried about your water bill, please get in touch. There are lots of ways we can make your water bill more affordable." To see more information on how they can help, click here.
The company suggested switching to a water meter to help manage costs. It said: "We’re all looking to reduce our bills and get more for our money and one of the easiest ways to reduce your water bill is to switch to a water meter.
"We fit them for free and most customers save more than £100 a year compared to their existing bills so it’s well worth considering. Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis recommends checking out a water meter if there are more bedrooms in your home than people (or even the same number)."
